COACH – Alberto SalazarAlberto Salazar is a legend of US distance running.  He is a three times New York Marathon Champion, a Boston Marathon Champion and former American record holder in the 5000m, 10,00m, 10k and marathon.  In 2011 he founded the Nike Oregon Project and has established himself as one of the top distance coaches in the world.  His current charges include World Champion Mo Farah as well as US Champions Galen Rupp and Dathan Ritzenheim.  

CLUB – Nike Oregon ProjectMatthew runs for the Nike Oregon Project.  Set up in 2001 by Alberto Salazar and Nike Vice President Tom Clarke to improve the standards of American long distance running the group has developed many of the top American distance runners including Kara Goucher, Adam Goucher, Dathen Ritzenheim and Galen Rupp.  2012 was a great year for the Oregon Project with Mo Farah and Galen Rupp winning gold and silver in the Olympic Games 10,000m.  Mo also won the Olympic Games 5000m title and the IAAF World T&F Championships 5000m title in 2011.  
Agent – PACE Sports ManagementPACE Sports Management is one of the world’s top athlete management and sports marketing companies.  Headed by Ricky Simms and Marion Steininger with its headquarters in London, Matthew signed with PACE in 2010 after forgoing his final year of eligibility at the University of Oregon.  PACE clients won a total of thirteen medals in the 2012 Olympic Games and the company was the most successful management group atthe last two World T&F Championships in Daegu and Berlin.  Current PACE clients include many of the stars of T&F, cross country and road running including Olympic & World Champions Usain Bolt, Mo Farah, Vivian Cheruiyot, Christine Ohuruogu, Phillips Idowu, Linet Masai, Jana Pittman, Hellen Obiri, Benjamin Limo and Mark Lewis-Francis.  

FamilyMatthew comes from a very successful running family.  His Dad Matt Centrowitz Senior was a two times Olympian, Pan-Am Games Champion, four times American Champion and held the US 5000m record. Matthew’s sister Lauren Centrowitz is also a professional middle distance runner having graduated from Stanford University.
